Detect Limb Imbalance

The Power/Cycle profile monitors progression of training toward peak performance while helping to identify ‘over-training’. The graph below describes the response of the women’s swimming team at the University of Texas at Austin as they prepared for the collegiate national championships in 2004 (i.e.; Peak 2). Both their swimming performance and arm power were higher at Peak 1 (the Conference Championships) compared to Peak 2 (NCAA Championships), indicating that their training did not allow them to maintain peak performance for very long.  With this understanding, the following year's training was modified and power as well as performance were improved at the National Championships (not shown here).
